Always have groups and clubs and the go and people love them. Often i run taught courses or workshops too in sculture and drawing from life.

I have been a figurative modeller for many years and had a classical training in the figure with drawing, sculpting and anatomy. Please see below for classes, workshops and casual life drawing group events.
This 5 wk workshop is a perfect introduction to sculpting with clay. You will produce a half-sized torso from a model.
You'll learn everything you need to know to create a small sculpture, starting from how to build an armature to how to prepare your sculpture for firing.* Along the way you'll learn about anatomy, tools and materials, and all the steps needed to create a life-like torso in clay:
- sculpting with structure including short anatomy focus talks which look at anatomy of the torso.
- A demonstration on how to dig out your sculpture ready for firing
- Includes everything you need; clay, prepped boards with armatures, rags, bags, use of modelling tools and eculpture stands
- Includes drying out and firing .

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Whether you are completely new to life drawing or already have some experience and would like to refresh and strengthen your approach, this course offers a friendly, practical and engaging introduction to the essential skills of drawing from the figure.
Led by Sara Myers, a classically trained artist and sculptor, the course combines structured exercises, discussion and artist references to help you develop confidence, accuracy and expressive drawing skills.
This is a fun, supportive and wide-ranging course, suitable for beginners and more experienced artists alike.
Each week focuses on a different core aspect of figure drawing.

WHAT YOU WILL COVER
Week 1 – Seeing the whole figure
A series of practical exercises exploring different ways of approaching the figure and learning to see the body as a complete form.
Week 2 – Line and rhythm
Developing confident, expressive line through rhythm-based drawing, with artist references and exercises that open up your use of line.
Week 3 – Structural anatomy
Breaking the body down into simple forms and understanding the basic structural units of the figure.
Week 4 – Tone
Learning how tone works in figure drawing and how it can be used to describe form, depth and structure.
Week 5 – Individual feedback session
Personal guidance and feedback to help you consolidate your learning and identify next steps.
This course is also ideal for students who would like to build portfolio work or who would benefit from extra support in developing their approach to life drawing.
Life drawing club that you can dip in and out of; run in the beautiful space at Yardley Arts. It is a small relaxed group- 5-13 people. Each session has a different theme or timing and really professional model, great lighting /set up. It takes place in the in the warm, light and a really spacious Studio at Yardley Arts and there is generally a morning session or an afternoon session, or make a day of it and do both!We have drawing boards, clips, basic drawing materials and paper available, free coffee, tea and biscuits are available

This is an exciting sculpture group.
For more experienced mainly or the odd new person that is happy with minimal coaching. This course provides an opportunity to sculpt from life. Highly addictive and great fun.
The blocks will be modelling from life either from a nude model, or sculpting a portrait. It can be taken home to work on in between classes. At the end you can dig out in the studio in a free day session. After which pieces can be fired in a kiln for a small extra charge
